Blink If You Can Hear Me
I think he has a gigantic, sycronized Star Destroyer dance number prepared.
OS: In a world of bon-bons, you are a twinkie.
Ahnk: God damn you, I am Count Chocula and you know it.

You'd like to read that, you mean.

Otherwise, where could Dolash get his hands on some Star Destroyers?

*imagines the reaction of world leaders if a fleet of Star Destroyers showed up*

Hmm...

I would say that its likely that they could.

They would have manouvering thrusters to aide them I would have thought, mainly for when they are in dry dock , etc...

After all you wouldn't build a ship that big and not give it some method of being able to manouvre around.

..though I should imagine like Daemon said it would be real damn slooow, so no emergency reverse...

Could design one if you wanted to though, heh

Star Destroyers can reverse albeit at painfully slow speeds. They cannot surpass manuevering thrusters in such a way.

I had a dream once where a Star Destroyer did appear over Earth and the Empire was placed in control - -all politicans were executed as the last vestiges of democracy were swept away....

Hmmm, that would probably not realistically happen Telan, unless it occured in an earlier age that the modern. I figure the U.S. would expend about 160 F/A-18 Fighters and about two hundred ARAAMs to destroy the Destroyer's compliments of starfighters and shuttles, and the destroyer it's self would be destroyed by about 10 H-bombs. Of course the Star Destroyer's wreckage falling into the atmosphere would cause problems....

Except none of those weapons would stand a chance against the shields. Add to that the fact that the star destroyer can just rain lasers down on the major countries the whole planet would effectively be left in catastrophic state and no real means to fight against weapons far ahead of our own.

Except that they would work, since TIE Fighters don't have shields, and yes, the weapons would be powerful enough to take down the shields and destroy the ship.
