Towards the end (the execution and onward), Padme begins with a full set of garb...but slowly, as the danger begins to climax, pieces begin to tear off. One almost wishes that ol' Yoda and the clone army didn't intervene.
Ah well...
Anyway, I personally didn't feel the movie to erupt until that very execution scene. There were a few dabblings of worthwhile parts here and there (mainly on the Obi Wan split-side), but generally the beginning was an addition to EP:1's preliminaries (although some good storyline expansion here, I must admit).

But yeah, i noticed something like that too, thinking back anyway....
Something i didn't notice tho was just when Anakin went crazy on the sand people, and it zoomed to Yoda, you could hear Qui Gon shouting "Anakin, NO!"
