Oh, I know we're evil. But in terms of what we actually RP, to a large degree it isn't pure evil. We haven't destroyed a planet in ages.

Granted, GC is "good" and TNO is "evil", but there's not a lot of wholesale slaughter of innocents in the public eye... we're evil, but we retain a facade of being okay to good. OOC, of course, everyone knows about the bad stuff going on behind the scenes, but from an IC standpoint... *shrug*

We're far more subtle than the Empire of the OT, I guess.

Well, I've read your arguments on why thread interruption doesn't work in this case, Drayson, but even so I think I'll go ahead and do it anyways.

A lot of what you backed up your points with was opinion - like crushing us, TNO not being bad, and your opinions about what my characters would think. However, since it is my choice on wether to act or not, I choose to on grounds that I think it is something my character would do. If you think it's something the character shouldn't do, then go seek them out IC and tell them so.

As for it being 'impolite' to interrupt your planned storylines unanounced and uninvited, I justify that because A) If I miss you online I might not get a chance to announce myself and discuss it with you before you move on, as evidenced by the speed with which you posted in Contruum and B) You are doing BIG things, galaxy shaping things, not to mention not exactly covert things, and that will draw attention. This isn't some mugging in an alley and hey, presto! The Coalition is here! These are invasions and explosions and flagrant violations of rights on a massive scale, and on that scale frankly I don't care if it's 'rude' to interrupt your little genocide. Was it 'rude' when you fought back at Corellia? I didn't think it was.

Anyways, I'm sure you can more or less see my stance. I stand firm to it.

Contruum is nothing of the sort. It was a storyline piece that explored the relationship between media and Empire. If you read the roleplay, you'll see that the Empire is being pushed into war by the media. Yes, the Empire is pulling the strings with regards to what the media says, but you don't know that. What the Coalition sees is the Empire responding to a terrorist attack with an investigation and preparing their forces. Not putting your citizens on standby would be fucking irresponsible. Drawing a conclusion from this that the Empire is going to invade Contruum is utterly ridiculous. Yes, an invasion is going to happen. But when you entered the thread, you didn't know that IC. You put together something about looking at a newspaper and, from that, sending agents to a planet.

That's rather a stretch. You're using what you know OOC IC. Which Simon called you on, if you'll recall.

Totally irrelevent. You attacked a planet that belonged to TNO. It was in no way a story RP, it was a fleet RP. Contruum is, for all intents and purposes, a story RP. There's no comparison between the two.

As for genocide... has the Empire even sent a fleet to Contruum yet? Have we made any move (that you can see IC) to take the planet? No. The only IC thing you know is that the Empire is saying "we have no plans to invade Contruum".

You're using your OOC knowledge that we're taking Contruum for IC gain. IC, you have no idea of (or have not given any reason you might know of) our plans for Contruum. As far as you can see, it's simply a terrorist attack on the Empire being answered by an investigation.

Wrong. You never tried to talk to me or anyone about Contruum. You simply posted. Now, there's nothing wrong with that under the rules. But it does, as I said, show a total lack of respect for the other party. Especcially when it's the other party's roleplay and you're interacting with his people! You should take notice that in the Roche thread, when I got to the point where my forces would begin to actively interact with the GC's, I stopped writing and posted a message for milkshake to get in touch so we could at least discuss the direction the RP would take.

You did nothing of the sort. You took it upon yourself to RP some of my forces, and you never once tried to talk about the thread until you had a problem with it. There are a multitude of options for you to have done so: email (which is posted in my profile and on the TNO board), which I check daily. The OOC forum. The TNO board. Private Message. AIM.

You didn't in any way, shape, or form, try to "announce yourself". So don't pretend that its my fault that I move forward with my thread if you don't try and talk to me about it.

--

You are, frankly, being incredibly selfish. You're worming your way into threads based on what's good for your group. You're putting your group interests ahead of story, and letting other people's RPs take the fall for it. I highly doubt you would be amused if we had entered your Restoration thread and changed the course of it. Even though its a "galaxy altering" thing. Even though it might have "made sense" for our characters. It's called respect for someone else's story.

TRF is not about telling Dolash's story. It's about telling all of our stories. Some of those are open to and welcome input. But sometimes people like to write a story without people disturbing them.

Obviously you don't care about these people. And unfortunately, there's nothing to stop you from not caring about these people. Except, maybe, your own judgement and principles. But those seem to be sadly lacking.

*shrug*

Hell, man. I went so far as to give you an in to play with one of TNO's threads. I as good as invited you to take part in the Thisspiass takeover. I'm not opposed to RPing with the GC. But I am opposed to people inserting themselves into stories without invitation or (at least) warning. I am opposed to people not giving a shit about my writing because they want to do it.

It's terribly selfish of you. Frankly, I'm disapointed. I think I'll drop a fleet into every potential RP the GC starts between now and forever.

Oh don't get so grumpy, Drayson. So you've been challenged, big deal. I've made myself clear to the best of my abilities, so if you still miss the point it's either because we're not on the same mental tracks and it's just beyond my ability to explain, or you're purposely ignoring the point.

Also, just a small point, but you wouldn't mind keeping your replies to this discussion a little shorter, would you? It makes it easier to discuss that way.

Anyways, as I've said, I've tried my best to explain my reasoning, and it appears you still conflict with most of it, so if you wish we can just ask staff to settle it. If you think I'm just being 'selfish' then I apologize for leaving you with that image, but all I can do is either assure you I am not being so, or betray myself and act against what I believe I should do, which I will not.

P.S. I've kind of noticed your last two replies - although lengthlier, and perhaps more virtrolic - do not really add any new information to the debate, nor quite grasp the gist of my previous explinations, so I would reason further discussion is futile for the purposes of a mutual agreement. Perhaps if you could list your charges, an independant, staff-related third party could resolve them and explain them in such a way whereby we may both better understand.

Compared to what happened at Corellia, it has. This was less than 20 posts. Corellia was about 5 threads or something, all multiple pages long. So it has helped a lot. However we also haven't gotten into a major war recently, so you never know...

Are you saying you want to give the new rules a test run?

But this wasn't "you destroyed blah blah blah, so irrelevent...
