May I humbly inquire as to the reason behind this, friend Titus?

Quite perplexing. Intriguing, even. I suppose it's for the best, considering how many people can be easily baited into handing out personal information.

If neither person minds, (like in Theren and Lorenzo's threads) then it's fine. But as a rule, AIM is a private conversation, and it shouldn't be posted publicly without consent from both parties.
