Yes, Sc2 was "going" to be their next project before warcraft 3, but it got put-off and eventually canceled. I had a friend working for blizzard and he said it was going to have five races. The two new ones were going to be Hybrids (Human/Zerg crosses such as Duran and Kerri) and Xel' Naga were going to return (if you read the storyline you know who they are).

Perhaps that's where the Naga species in the wc3 expansion pack came from (maybe inspired by?)....
hmmm.
I bet World of Warcraft is what made them cancel it.

World of Warcraft is a cheesey rip of everquest. Why people waste time and money on such an abomination is beyond me.

Deimos obviously doesn't read game reviews. WoW pwns all other mmorpgs.

fuck that duck
Not a gamer, but I found Warcraft and Warcraft II enjoyable... LOL
So I naturally assume the others are good.
But to each his own.

After playing Warcraft 3, the previous releases of warcraft just don't do it for me. Too simple, not enough strategy and finesse required. And I'm a complete convert to the concept of having 'heros' in strategy based games...
World of Warcraft is a spectacular game, I've watched others play it but I've never had the opportunity to mess with it myself. It is by no means cheesy, from what I've seen of the game itself and the reviews that my friends and companies have given it..

Gamespot gave WoW a 9.5. This from the review:
"Though massively multiplayer online role-playing games have been around for years, it has taken this long for the genre's breakthrough hit to finally emerge. Here is the online role-playing game you should play, no matter who you are. This is because World of Warcraft brings out all the best aspects of this style of gaming, if not many of the best aspects of gaming in general. It also features many of the specific characteristics that have made Blizzard Entertainment's previous games so entertaining, memorable, long-lasting, and successful. Of course, the company's past track record did not guarantee that World of Warcraft could have turned out this well. Such high quality simply cannot be expected, nor should it be missed."
