Again, as they said above, many products (mostly microsoft products, that I've noticed) refuse to obey Windows' selection for default browser. This is usually because they integrate with IE for added functionality and security flaws.
If you uninstall IE it does it! But I guess you need it to test websites, and such.

Tough luck.

Not possible to uninstall IE, it's integrated into the windows shell pretty doggon good. IIRC it may have been possible in 9x and previous versions, but not in XP.

Sure it is. You insert your CD and select "Remove Windows Components". Whether it actually removes the program I don't know, but it makes it inaccessible and forces programs to launch Firefox instead of IE to open web pages...

DON'T UNINSTALL IE.

It causes problems. Block it's access to the web but it around, quiet, impotent, and unused.

And it is possible under any version Kas, just very, very dirty.

Yes, it is very dirty, and bound to get even dirtier with Longhorn, when Microsoft intends to make the browser a seamlessly integrated part of the desktop, rather than a separate program.

Yuck.

A fully functional, but sadly out of date and aged IE.
