Yup, best way is to call your cable provider (if you have one) and ask them for the service, usually you can get some deal with cable and internet from the same company.

Do you mean Kas, local as in LAN or if you have a BT telephone you go for BT Broadband?
Also Cable is alot faster than the others.

We got Road Runner down in Milwaukee. But here in Shawano, WI, its Pipeline, by Charter Communications, state cable company. Its not in the WHOLE state, but only certain areas.

Lorenzo. I think he means local as in cable company that is only in one state, city, etc.

Well, I really meant broadband for dial up. Where I live cable costs 52 dollars + a month, in addition to buying the cable modem. Netzero sucks, so I was wondering what else was out there.

Ken and I spend $99.95 a moth for 2 internet services, and that cut down modem rentals since we bought our own modems.
Anyways, the only other broadband service I have is AOL Broadband, but again, for cable. Which reminds me, I need to get my AOL back on.
*will do so soon, hopefully*

ya, actually. Adelphia earthlink. Adelphia owns all the cable lines so the cable service provider is a choice of one. But I think they are a rip off.

Jade, what possible use do you have for TWO broadband services?
[edit] Misread your post. Question rephrased:
Jade, most broadband providers also give some dial-up time as well. I know earthlink does, you shouldn't have to pay for broadband and dial-up.
And what possible use could you have for AOL broadband? That's like paying for a Porsche and getting a Toyota.
