Stephanie Sapphire:Florida was not the only state to have a close count, it only mattered because Florida is compromised of idiots (no offense, Silus) who couldn't figure out which hole to punch.
Bush cheated his way into office. They found ballots floating around in the Gulf of Mexico shortly after the late Florida recount. Convenient that his brother was the governor of Florida at the time.
Bush won all the recounts that were held, up until the point that the Suprime Court stopped them.
If any recounting should have taken place at the end there, it should have been completly state wide, not just in a few select places. Yes, the 2000 election ended on a bad note, but there is no doubt that both sides were pushing hard to float the boat their way.
Stephanie Sapphire:
As you can all probably tell, I am not a Bush fan. I do agree that the government should take every precaution to prevent a terrorist attack, but I also believe that if we allow terrorist organizations to disrupt the democratic policies of this nation, they have won. They have what they want....
So what do we do, nothing? That whole 'terrorists want us to change' line is really stupid, by the way. Sure they want us to change, they want us either dead, or out of the middle east. They give jack about whether or not we pick our noses on Tuesday instead of Wednesday, or whether we plan a contingency plan. They're not concerned with whether our tires are Firestone or Brand X.
On a side note, what's with the 2000 recounts anyway? What idiot designed a system [or counting machine] that was so flawed that hand counting would result in the results being swayed a few thousand numbers at a time? Didn't anyone learn to count right the first time?
