El mas chingon!
Hmm... I wonder if Dolash will write a story named "Kill Ahnk: Vol 1?"

I'm waiting for the DVD version of Kill Bill 2 as well. I'm with Ahnk on the spoiler part.

Kill Bill is superb!

I did enjoy your review Ahnk.

Though I can't believe you didn't mention anything about the Oren Ishi sequence!
(the whole animated sequence depicting her history) A very shrewd and creative way of getting a highly taboo subject past the censors, and so well done too! but then there is just so much in it!

Kill Bill 2 (don't worry no spoiler here) actually has a very different feel to it, I'd say its a lot more... serious, plus the storyline gets deeper.

I really enjoyed both of them, the first couple of films I've been excited about in a long time.

defy the tyrannous stars
You know what else I love about both films? The soundtracks. Especially 'Battle Without Honor Or Humanity', by Tomoyasu Hotei, which plays when Oren and her gang arrive at the House of Blue Leaves. Quentin Tarantino has a knack for picking exactly the right music for every moment.

I coudn't agree with you more Vega!

That song was the key factor in me buying the soundtrack!

So well placed, that whole sequence with the crazy '88 gang was sheer class.

I mentioned the kick ass soundtrack.

Also, in all honesty, I'm not a huge fan of anime. My brother thinks it's the best sequence in the movie, while I merely felt it was okay.

It's part of the "something for everyone" feel.

The anime part was okay, but it definetely wasn't the high point of the movie.

friend of the sleeping pill
It fits with Tarantino's storytelling style though.
