I'm a Canadian who is pro-Bush. By tommorow morning the news of this post should be on the CBC and I will be expelled form the country, but I have this to say before I'm chased out of the countries with trained attack-beavers at my heals:
Michael Moore is a person I admire. He is intelligent, he passionately defends what he feels is right, and he did change the way I think allot with his movie "Bowlign for Columbine." However, his ideals are impossibly naiive. There is no way that if we love everyone to death that they're just gonna stop attacking us. Smart, evil people take advantage of smart, nice people. If Bush had sat on the first butt-cheeks after the 911 incident and not gone on this war on terror than he'd be putting the lives of American citizens in jeopardy. The terrorist's needed a smack in the head, and a good healthy fear of doign what they did ever again.
Another thing, as horrible as it is that we have so much corruption in our positions of power (business organizations and such) it is impossible to change. People who don't care about others become successful (for the most part). A sad but entirely valid point.
Personally, I wish we could all live in a communist society with no nations at all but that would be naive. I've realized that no amount of hugging will change some people and that we need to be able to fight to protect ourselves from these people if ever they gain power.
Everythign in this world is based upon a firm foundation of fear. This world is going to hell, and this is the reason behind my Christianity. I've realized that there is nothing that can save us but the Messiah. Being a proud person, I wish it weren't so, but hey, nobody's perfect, and I'm no exception.
