Sam, the ranks stop changing after 200 posts or so, I figured if someone stays around that long they deserve a serious title.

Hmm. Does that mean I'm supposed to be like a Dutch Admiral? Which one do I pick..... De Ruyter, or Doorman?

The dutch had excellent admirals, actually. 1640s I belive, they routed a combined French and English Fleet - - - In British waters

As did I. It made me interested and made me do some research. Very interesting, even more so than the battles themselves of the days of Louis XIV and Queen Elizabeth are the admirals therein.

Yeah, De Ruyter was the greatest Dutch Admiral. Doorman, on the other hand, well, he wasn't bad, he just had a ragtag fleet of warships against a superior and cohesive Japanese fleet. I'm talking about this battle right here:

I don't have the history channel, unfortunatly, but I have read into many actions, and have played Age of Sail 2. I have to admit my favorite ship of that area was the massive, 4 decker Ship of the Line Santissima Trinidad, a 130 gun Spanish ship that was sunk in the Battle of Trafalgar.
