I promote them, but it's obvious that I won't necessarily be voting out of them because I think them the best, but out of a natural bias.
Or because I simply want my name up there. The first impulse anyone will have would be to vote for their own RP because in their eyes it can't necessarily be wrong (without a nice deal of modesty).
So while I like and promote my RPs, I don't vote for them because I don't think that it's possible for a human being to not be biased toward their own whatever in a situation like this.

When I do the actual thing, I most often don't pay attention to actual vote tallies, because a lot of people just nominate themselves. If a thread received overwhelming, genuine support, it goes on. Other than that, I just look at the top picks and choose the best.
