To me, the Darkside isn't a good enough weakness. Its been overused and nobody knows how to RP it as a weakness properly anymore.

Oh please. That's the oldest excuse for not playing realistically, ever. If you can't tell if something is realistic within the realm you write in you really shouldn't be rp'ing here, to be truthful.
And yes, weaknesses are not required. However, if you get into a fight with someone and you start doing uber godmoding...
