Dark Jedi
I'm with you, Wes. I attended the rally almost all day here in Anchorage

I'm with Jan.
You have representatives. They just weren't the ones you voted for.
Now stop comparing it to 1770 unless it's being used to fund new forts to keep at bay any French offensives from the Louisiana territory.

The problem is that America is not a democracy. Never has been. It is a constitutional republic in which the voice of the minority is supposed to be represented alongside that of the majority. The problem is that a certain group of people up in D.C. don't get that. They think that people elected them so that they can control other people's lives. Not true. I know of few people who actually want to be controlled by the government. Especially when Obama's cronies start classifying dissenters as potential terrorists. That, to me, clinches the idea that America made a big mistake electing him as President.

OS: In a world of bon-bons, you are a twinkie.

I was not really sure what that "tea party" thing was. A bunch of people who bought their tea, paid taxes on it, and then dumped it out? Why didn't they just fling their money into the wind and be done with it?
Didn't the Boston Tea Party peeps steal the British tea and dump it overboard?
Now, if everyone in this modern "tea party" actually stole tea from their local grocery store and threw it away, THAT would be a statement to take notice of...

Because only the right wing can label dissenters as traitors and terrorists.

Minister of Defence
Wes Vos:Um, I'm willing to bet that at least 1 person in the american legislative system voted against the tax hike/at least voiced a disagreement. Therefore, you were represented.

Where do you think the Texans got the whole idea from?

Bounty Hunter
What does that say about the Texans in question? Any Canadian could tell you that following Quebec is a dumbass thing to do.
