Malice managed to dodge the saber aimed at his chest. Thrusting his right and forwd he interlocked it with Gash's hand.

*When are you going to stop playing around and show me what you can really do. I wan to see the power you hold within*

Reachng forward with his other hand hegrippd around his throat. With a few flaps of his ings they were now clse to 10 feet in the air.

*You know, it's a pretty far drop. Better hope you land on your feet*

Chocking him tighter, Malice let him go and watched as he plummeted back down to the ground, wondring if he would land on his feet or go crashing into the earth.

Gash allowed himself to plummet for a moment or two, thinking it rather funny that the Sith would grow frustrated at his apathy. He slowed his fall with the force, until he floated to the ground with all the force of a feather, lying on his side.

"Well, Malice, I didn't land on my feet... I feel fine. But you, you're frustrated I don't want to use my power on you, are you?

"Interesting. Would you like to see the techniques I learned as a Sith? They are surprisingly effective, when used with the power of the lightside."

Gash smiled, and got to his feet.

"But no, I don't think I'll resort to that. Each time you hit me, Malice, my ability to fight you grows exponentially. How many times will you attack, Sith? Your body is strong, but your spirit is weak. Assault me once more, and then, I will attack.

"Then, you will see."

Grinning Malice flew back to the ground.

*My spirit is weak is it*

Turning he shoved his two hands, one each into a burning tree. Hissing as the flames licked at his hands. Using his demonic strength and aid of the force he yanked both out of the ground and turned back to Gash.

*I see that is impossible. Since the only thing i me is the darkside*

Malice propelled the two trees forward, guiding them with the force headed straight for Gash.

Gash shrugged nonchalantly. The flaming trees sped toward him at full force, and he made no effort to slow them down. Calling on the Force energy within the forest to aid him, he built the shield around his mind, so that none could touch him.

He let the shield expand from it's birth in his mind, flowing outward until it surrounded him. Gash fed more power into it, easily holding it, even as the master who had taught it to him never could.

The lightside is stronger; no matter what Sith may say.

The two trees impacted on his shield, discintigrating completely as they collapsed into the sphere of impenitrible energy. Gash reached out, absorbing the energy within the dying tree, and within the fire which plagued them, boldstering his own strength, as well as that of his shield, with their power.

The Jedi breathed deeply.

"That, Malice, is why your soul is weak. It is only of the darkside. You are nothing, Sith. The power of life overcomes death, for even in the embrace of death, life goes on. The sentient soul lives forever; death is a plight of mortals.

"Death is a leech of life. The Darkside is death; the Lightside, life. You cannot touch me."

He still held the lightsaber in his hand. Looking down at his prized weapon, Gash raised it, in a salute.

"You can try. It is futile. I have only scratched the surface of my power; force me to go no further."

Malice looked on at the shield that was created by the light.

*Pretty good. It matters not if the lightside is of life, and the darkside is death. For all things come to an end all things meet death. And we sith are the ones they meet*

Malice looked around. He began to draw on his anger and hate, feeling out further, reaching intothe forest he grinned.

*Can you feel it, this forest maybe teeming with the lightside. But in everything also lies the dark. I feel it all around us*

Malice began to draw on that darkness he felt. It ws in the trees, the animals, and even in the very rocks that lay at his feet. Looking at Gash, Malice's dark blue eyes suddenly turned dark red.

*Tell me Gash, have you ever dippe into the world of sith sorcery when you were among the darkside*

Malice asked in a low voice, still drawing on the darkness within the forest, gathering it into his very being.

Gash glanced around the forest, as if not listening to Malice. In actuality, he was, but he wouldn't let that on.

"Malice, you are not listening. The soul of a sentient being lives beyond death; thus, death can be beaten by life.

"Sith sorcery is an ancient art; an art probably lost to the generations. I am proud to say I have been part of burying that cursed, bloody religion as deep as I could when I left Ziost."

Gash shuddered involuntarily, albeit slightly.

"My uncle, Recon Klain, and I were the greatest Sith sorcerers in the galaxy; the last two with the sacred abilities of a culture long past. Save you, perhaps, but even you have dug not as deep as I once did. I killed Recon, and bound his soul to a new body in a dark ritual. Bending minds, souls, bodies, life, death..."

The Jedi Outcast shrugged the dark memories off, taking in more light force energy with a deep breath.

"But sorceries of darkness are nothing compared to the power of the force. Even Recon knew that... I think you will find, he is no longer a Sith, either."

Malice laughed.

*I do not care if he is a sith or not. If he had gon over into the light then hehad lost his way and become weak just like you*

Malice began to channel the force energy within him. His body began to heat up.

*Yes i am learning the ways of Sith sorcery. An combined ith the force i will one day be unstopable*

Openig is mouth wide,Malice let out a stream of fire, fueld by the darkness around them and from within Malice it headed straight for the shield. A shape appeared on the tip of the flame, the shape was that of Malice grinning at Gash.

Gash moved back one step as the stream of flame charged towards him. The initial blast, that bit bearing the face of Malice, struck Gash's Force shield, discintigrating it and absorbing it's energy.

A second later, as the stream continued, Gash let his shield collapse. Spreading his hands out, then bringing them forward and cupping them. The fire sloshed into his outstretched palms, as the Jedi forced his hands through the complicated energy-absorbing technique he'd mastered. He began to sweat, as his hands began to feel the warmth of the fire.

But as he absorbed the energy, his strength grew. Force energy built up within him in a way completely impossible by traditional means. Gash grunted, as the heat slowly enroaching on his hands began to reach the searing level. With an enormous crash only heard in Jiren's mind, he brought his hands away, letting the fire strike him full force. It threw him backward, which absorbed some of the force with which the blow hit him. Gash used the Force to move himself back more than the momentum of the hit would naturally carry him, and set himself down slowly.

Coughing, he got to his feet, brushing off his slightly-singed robes.

"Fool. You have strengthened me in a way you cannot understand... at the price of a moment's pain. Life conquers death and pain. Do you wish to attack and feel the full strike of my powers?"

Malice grinned, blowing smoke out of his mouth he stood in a deffensive position.

*With all do pleasure Gash, lead the way*

Malice stood ready. His senses were on full alert and he was ready to counter or block an attac made by Gash.

Gash shrugged. For a moment, he sought that fire within the Force in his body, the fire of the dark side he'd long ago tamed. Once, he'd used it for the devastating Force Fire technique. Finding that flame, he extinguished it, and in an instant, using his magnified Force abilities, brought it back in the form of a freezing fire- ice given form.

Cold enough to freeze flesh, bone, and blood.

Cold enough to kill Malice.

"Touch my freezing fire, Malice, and die... dodge my freezing fire, Malice, and be hit again, and again..."

Opening both hands, the blue flames balled into his palms. He allowed the fire to build up for a moment, then brought both hands together, palms facing Malice. A great verticle pillar of blue-silver flames shot outwards, freezing the air around them. Malice had played into Gash's hands, and had now been left with less Force energy than he. Far less. To dodge the fast-moving flame, he would have to use up more of that precious energy, and probably not succeed in the process. To absorb or block the beam, fired by a Gash who was exceptionally high on Force Power, would be impossible.
