I don't mind my 17 All. fighter, he's pretty fun. Something just so satisfying about being able to handle multiple enemies without having to rely on a summoned creature...
Sort of the same way with me, I used my summoned creature for fire support (Imp), sort of the way a shaman uses fire totems. Just slap on a few DoTs, and start banging away with the fire wand. Thats what I like about wands, they are both ranged and can still be used in close quarters.
Of course, my other favorite tatic was to slap on the DoTs, send my Imp after them, and use fear. Of course, I wouldn't do this if there are large crowds of enemies around, but it's fun to see them running all over the place while losing a ton of health, then the DoTs killing them after the fear wears off, just before they make it back to attacking you.
