Ugh. I remember that game... it was complicated. And, quite honestly, had a severe lack of 'control', as it were. I enjoy being in the thick of the fight, and being more proactive than administrating planets and dictating their futures.
...until I can be bothered doing the latter, heh.
What, did you just use the automatic battle function? I admit it took me a while, but even with the old graphics, it's still a lot of fun to go into a battle and command the ships yourself. Nothing like taking 5 Executor SSDs and a Interdictor up against several fully laden enemy troop transports.
