Although he understood that despite his best efforts to defend himself over the past number of days, maybe even weeks (he seemed to have lost count), Arkan knew that he would have to leave Ruusan or incite the wrath of a Jedi expedition looking for him. He was like a beacon here, a sole darkened essence amongst the barren canyon system of Ruusan. But he bided his time well, he was looking for a path. The Codex was the key here, as a Force-user of unknown power, even to himself, Arkan used the Force Fountain not just to replenish his energies, but to extend his sight of reality and view the galaxies trillions of life-forms and find the strands that would lead him to the prize. The prize he needed to destroy.
No guardian in their right mind would want to allow such power to exist, one that was portable at least. Power was earned, not taken. As though the Force told him so, Arkan was compelled to hunt this artifact down.
---
This artifact, known as the Codex, was blindly considered the Jedi Codex because of its ability to enhance and empower, especially for those who were Force Sensitive. Now, this artifact was lost after Dark Jedi Halbert's defeat by a group of Jedi. Although the Codex was later found by one known as Pann, Dark Jedi Halbert still remained and being a Force Adept like herself, she still had some connection to the artifact. The point was, Halbert was dead during a conflict between the New Republic and the Empire. Classified information in the New Republic Archives took record of the entire event at Kathol, between the New Republic and the Empire at that time. In result of this battle, the system was surrounded by gravitational anomalies similar to The Maw at Kessel.

Arkan knew he would visit Kathol somehow, sometime later. But right now, the focus was on the Codex. Amplified by the Force Fountain, Arkan took on hundreds of minds at a time, quickly scanning surface thoughts as to any figment of the artifacts location. Every single mind had little knowledge of such an object, until Arkan started scanning all of the Force-Users. Although he was careful not to tread on dangerous ground by reading their minds, he instead, examined their course and destination. The Sith were clumped on Onderon, the Jedi were heading into... a strange number of directions. But he suspected this was routine scouting.
Although he began to trace the minds of his old comrades and link off from there. Kenshin was first, then Luis, which went to Hanix, but also to Kale, then onward. Like a chain-reaction, he began to follow their course and destination by taking a peek into the future. Kale sparked Arkan's interest though, he was heading relatively without numbers. This was really strange.
He decided to wait. With near limitless power in this Force Fountain, he could compel himself to whoever had the strongest output in thoughts of the Codex. All he needed was timing to send his essence and being outward to the proper destination. After that, he knew he would have to get to Ruusan manually to try anything again if he made error.
