Demosthenes X:I don't see what you're arguing for. The decision has been made, three groups have aleady gotten legal, and more are on the way. Just suck it up, and re-calculate your meters.
No, Ahnk. The staff failed to make the rules clear. The fact that this rule is news to virtually every group at TRF is proof enough of that. Even groups that are led by staff members, such an Anthos and TNO, are just discovering this rule. Groups like VC, that make every effort to stay within the rules, to the extent that they post on TRF's OOC board that they've made an error, are just learning about this rule.
This is the staff's fault, for not making the rules regarding defences clear. There is no two ways about that.

Kas: It's quite obvious what I'm "arguing for". A fair and balanced solution to this problem, that doesn't involve groups suffering for the staff's mistakes. Give everyone a chance to correct the problem in the best way they see fit, be that taking planets to offset the change or scrapping assets.
Right now, you're sitting here saying "We fucked up, sorry, you have three days to scrap as much shit as is neccessary. What? You spent three months building that stuff? Not my problem."
It's bullshit. And you, having already "gotten legal", are quite obviously biased towards the rest of us loosing those months because you've already done it. But if three groups have "gotten legal", that leaves the majority that have not yet scrapped ships.
If this was one group that made a mistake, I would agree that they should not be given a grace to collect planets. But this is the staff's fault, and every group at TRF is effected by it. Therefor, the obvious (and only fair) solution is to give groups a chance to take planets, and THEN force them to start scrapping.

Sure, go ahead, keep your assets and try take planets to cover your rear. But if someone attacks you, you're screwed.
Or you could drop the assets, take planets and rebuild at the same time, and arrive at the same destination in the same amount of time, but be completely safe about it.

My meter limit is 150,000 meters; I had to drop 130,000 meters worth of ships and defenses, and 400,000 meters worth of mines. You think you're going to be hurt? I had to drop almost half of my solid assets. Be a man about this, and not a winy brat. You screwed up, take the responsibility and deal, sheesh.
