I see Drayson attempting to use the lame excuse of 'economic realism' to keep the lightside groups lame and powerless, lest they ever challenge his precious Empire's place as Uber Leetness Group of the Galaxy.
Give me a break. You know, one of these days... TNO has to fall eventually. Someone in that group will decide having fun creating epic storylines is better than being able to say, "my group is better than everyone else's because it owns the galaxy." And in turn, the lightside groups shouldn't turn into frantic power grabbing groups themselves because they should remember how much it sucks to be the losers for years and years on end. Remember, revenge is a path to darkness...
That day will mark the point at which TRF has *truly* become a community of mature, talented writers. The fact that in this thread, people seem more intent on smothering the opposition to maintain their power rather than being open to ways to actually allow both sides to win, indicates that TRF has not yet reached that point.

Your example is very, very skewed, and both of us know it. Besides the differences between TNO and the GC that I have cited many, many times, as to why (logically) we have larger per capita military machine, TNO has been building its fleet for a lot longer.
At the end of the last war, the GC was reduced to basically half power. They have, in the time since, regained a lot of power. TNO, on the other hand, began building its large ships far before then - the reason we have more "big ships", aside from the aforementioned superior production capabilities, is simply a function of time. We've been doing it longer, without losing a war or two in the meantime.
Comparing relative fleet sizes without considering the situation is simply silly.
