Jai halfway resented Tex's intervention and his forceing of a drink...but he'd always been like that: overprotective and 'always knowing best'. Since Biggs had been away so much he had become worse...almost as bad as back when they were kids. Yet, Jai really couldn't complain...she did need someone to have her back sometimes, and Tex was always right there.

Jai turned and handed the shot-glass back to the person Tex had swiped it from...not many things had changed over the years, but Jai's drinking habits had. "Here you go. Sorry 'bout that....my friend can be a little annoying sometimes." Jai smiled at the patron, who didn't seem to really mind, and then she turned back to the boys.

She was glad to see that Mahk had left. That was a rumble she didn't feel like diveing into...espically in an evening gown, high heels, and a hidden dagger as her only weapon...and she'd have to hike her skirt up to the thigh to reach it. She was pretty sure that wouldn't have gone over too well.

Jai caste a glance in Jander's direction. She was warming up to the Gand a little more. He had been an imposeing sight at first...but how could you be leery of a male who kissed your hand? Therefore, Jai stood back, near Jander, and waited for Logan and Tex to finish thier little 'meet&greet' and then waited for Jander as well before she even tried to get a word in...

Tex nodded to Jaina and then walked off, seemingly distracted. He notice a rather odd looking fellow next.

"Jander Sunstar, how nice it is to see you here...how long has it been since Sactitan?"

Tex walked back over to the table once seated he kept eyes on Jai and, Logan. Logan seemed to know Jander they seemed to be having a discussion over old times or something. Truth be told as long as Logan's body guard didn't come back and, start trouble Tex didn't care what they were talking about.

Tex looked over at Jai who seemed completely disinterested in whatever Logan and, Jander were discussing.<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> I gave Jandar a hard time when he first walked in,but the truth be told I like this kid <!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> Tex thought.

Tex looked back over at John who had kept his seat and, just watched the action as it happened." I'm sorry about that John things got a little heated there for a second." When Jander comes back we can redeal that last hand."

I can say this for both you guys "I finally feel like I have some back up when I need it" Tex said with a smile. "With the exception of Jai that's a new feeling for me."

Now I wish that kid would get done with the chit chat so we can play some cards.

OOC: *laughs* I love that IC attitude Terex. Kid huh? Whatever you say.

IC: For the second time in mere minutes, Jander was left holding a three-way conversation. First Admiral Logan had seen him and approached, then it became obvious to Sunstar that Jaina wished to reenter the conversation, though who she wished to talk to was unknown. Now, even as his conversation with Logan had just begun, the Gand caught his name being mentioned over the parties din. It was then he remembered that he'd been in the middle of a sabacc game before the near shuffle. Looking down he realized he still held the cards in his left hand. All of this went through his head while Logan spoke.

"Yes Admiral, it has been some time. That was an interesting battle, that's for sure. An excellent testing ground for the Deathravens, though a bit unplanned. Something really should be done about the Ssi-Ruuk, and the Yuzzuh Vong as well. So how are things going in your new position? I was saddened to hear of the New Alliance's dissalution, it was very unfortunate."

Jander glanced back over his shoulder to Sheridan and the somewhat impatient Datoo. Looking between Logan and Darklighter, he held up the cards in his hand and asked, "Would either of you mind if we took the conversation over to the sabacc table? We broke up our game when Mahk and Mrs. Darklighter had thier near altercation, and I'd hate to hold the game off even longer."

OOC: I taught him everything he knows, Jander. ;)

IC: Jai looked at Logan and then back at Jander. "I'm game.", she announced, walking over to the Sabacc table. She tugged her gloves off---a sure sign she was ready to get down to business.

"So, Boys...deal me in and fill me in. What kinda game are we playin' here? Corellian rules?", she asked with a sly smirk.

Tex laughed, as he saw Jai walking over to the table. She smirked at Tex as she sat down.

"So Jai you came to lose your money with the rest of these boys." " Are you sure you want them to see the beating I'm about to give you Tex said, with a laugh.

As the cards were reshuffled, Tex eyed the people around him. He was in full competitive mode as the cards flew from his finger tips. <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> The games on Tex thought. <!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> A smile crossed his face,and dollar signs were in his eyes

"Beating?! Datoo, I taught you every th---"

At that moment, Jai's words were overshadowed by the ominious booming of the palace clock strikeing midnight. The whole congragation at the party knew what that meant...time for the fireworks.

When the last chime struck, Jai spoke agian..."Wait a minute, Tex...don't deal me in just yet. I've heard a Naboo SkyFlame show is something not to be missed. Anyone care to go watch?", Jai asked as she stood.

Hearing the last of the chimes of the palace clock, she grinned. She had already beaten the crowds, along with Daren.

She had already located a hidden staircase which led them to a spot on the palace's roof, a section where it wasn't curved, like one of the towers, but flat instead.

A perfect spot where nobody else was even permitted to go, only members of the royal family and a rare few others.

"Well, you've been quiet. What are you thinking?" Raven asked, offering a smile.

Daren gulped as he sat down next to her. He looked down at the Rogue Jedi Order patch on his arm and sighed almost sadly. He then looked up at Raven.

"I uh...I just have a lot on my mind."

Cairo, Owen, and Tec stood on the balcony and looked up at the dazzleing display. The light from the explosions reflected in her eerie Bormean eyes makeing them sparkle.

"Isn't it beautiful, guys?"
