For the record: Regrad doesn't know about Skynet. There was no mention of Skynet to Regrad or anyone else present. Skynet informed Smarts of what was going on, and Smarts passed the information on as if it were his own. As far as Regrad or anyone else knows, Smarts formulated this theory on his own and gathered the corroborating evidence himself.

How did skynet and/or Smarts find out about the Confedertion's "surgical strikes" on the Reavers?
I'm asking because that was never the intent of my posts thus far; I'm just evacuting people from around Reaver space and making sure the Confederation's internal star lanes don't have any Reaver trouble...

My intention was to allude to some general Confederation "plan" without necessarily knowing the specifics of such a plan. Confederate military forces are entering Reaver Space (for whatever reasons), and when they do encounter Reavers (which is all but inevitable), it would be reasonable to assume that Confederate forces would shoot back (an assumption supported by your last post in Cataclysm).
The point is, the Confederation is the only faction so far that has actually RP'd sending military forces into Reaver space. Your assertion that those military forces are present to protect non-military assets (such as space lanes and general population centers) would only make it easier for third parties to know about your actions.
Saving civilian convoys isn't exactly a top-secret, black ops sort of military action.

Ah, my mistake. I thought that fell under "Told him everything". I'll edit the post so that Regrad asks Smarts to discuss this further and so forth.
