TDA. Just TDA.
the resident Sith Master, Vance, is on vacation, so you have no look there.

welcome to TRF, and keep yourself to yourself, read timelines, threads, see what you really want.

talk if you need to,
TDA

Minister of Defence
Welcome to TRF.

Read the Rules and FAQs:

http://therebelfaction.com/forums/faq.php?

Then lurk, as lurking is good. Some may view it as a distasteful, almost stalkerish, activity, but here at TRF we completely condon, even recommend, lurking. Lurking is probably one of the smartest things a new member can do here at TRF. I wish some of our members had done more lurking before starting off and making stupid mistakes.

Asking questions is also one of the smartest thigns a new member can do. We don't mind you asking questions, just pay attention to the answers.

Ok i've read rules and looked around a bit and guess i'll go make a profile but like should i post a new thing in astral astoria. Or go looking in the sith section to see what's there.

The Astoria is a great place to start and recommended. Once you feel you're ready, submit an application to the faction you wish. Read up on it so you are familiar with whichever one you chose and post a character biography.

Welcome!

Welcome to The Rebel Faction; use at your own risk.

As everyone noted before me it's a great idea to Lurk for a while before diving into the In Character sections of TRF simply because, also as noted above, we have quite the dynamic and evolving atmosphere. I would suggest you start with the Rules & FAQ (both of which are available in the sidebar/drop-down menus) and spend a good chunk of time re-reading that material as, fundamentally, it is pivotal to the continued functionality of TRF. Following that I'd suggest giving our History at least a good once over before moving along to the Planets List (in the OOC) forum. From there I'd point you in the direction of the Battlegrounds... basically everything on the first three pages is current or ongoing.

That should give you a fair idea of how we do things around here, however; if you still have questions or concerns you are more then welcome to come directly to me with said issues. My contact information is available at the click of a button (just scroll over my Screen Name and click).

In regards to you and this thread: take the advice offered by our Veteran members. They will not steer you wrong. That said, as Jan noted, I would recommend you start with a few days of serious lurking before you dive into the IC or OOC forums. We love newbies, we hate n00bz. The suggestions offered by our longstanding members will send you down the road from 'newb' to something better. Don't listen to them and you may forever be a n00b. And we're here to help you make it.

Heh.

As for the Sith; please don't go that route? We have plenty of Sith characters and members. They're easy to play, fun to vent with and so on, but the real challange and need (imo) is for TRF to begin bringing up a new batch of Jedi characters and, I know for a fact, that there are current PC characters with Knight or Master rank who would be glad to take you under their wing. If you are dead set on the Sith then Vance Jas is the man you want to talk to, but if he's not around there's also Recon and Necros. However, as I noted above, I would sooner suggest you look up Master Dolash, Jedi Master and current leader of the Force Council... he would be only too glad to get you on the road to becomming a Jedi.

Keep in mind that there are also myriad options here at TRF. One need not take up the mantle of such typical roles as Jedi, Sith, Smuggler or Princess. We have intergalactic bankers, we have news and media related aspects, starship production and design. Etc.

Anyway, welcome to the Faction and good luck.

Ok i'll keep that in mind and go check out the jedi section of the site, that actually doesn't sound to bad either as long in the role playing i don't have to be one of the stiff hardcore light side guys who never do anything wrong. But ya i'll defietily look into that.

I've also been lurking for a coupel of days, hope no one minds but just descided today to join on sugestion of a writing friend who suggested i do something like this to help with my writing. But i will take another look at the rules and planets list. Also is it ok it I post bio today or do i need to like do something before that, jsut making sure.
