This weekend, kinda.

Gotta see Gramps at some point.

(in hospital, but he's fine, he's just old and is falling apart, a bit like me actually, :P)

Anyway...

Well I'm back, kinda.

(back to work at least, heh)

=( ... Is everything okay ?
Sadly , no, this was one battle he wasn't able to win.
To those of you who wish to know...

My Grandad died on saturday, around 8:30 ish (GMT), aged 91 years, after developing a severe Lung infection-(one collapsed the other hardly worked). Very sad to see him as weak as he was in hospital.
Born 1915, in Yorkshire, he met my Grandma during the Second World War, (they got married once he came back from Lille, (he was sent back out the next day)

Up until saturday , they had been married for 66 years, (try finding an Anniversary card for that! heh)

John was a tough ol' cookie, survived the Lille invasion, Dunkirk, Burma, Durban, and the Suez Canal.

He was someone I admired immensely, he was a great believer in working hard, and doing a job right, something sadly lacking these days.

Loved toffee, port, and games.

He taught me how to play chess and draughts, as well as many other card games. ;)

One thing I shall always remember him for is for having a great mischevious sense of humour, he always made me smile.

Thanks Grandad, I'll miss you.
