there's another classic pirate book... where a boy becomes a ships first mate... durn it.. I can't remember it's name... HA! I want to call it Johnny Quest but that's definitely not it...
Kidnapped! That's it... Kidnapped by Robert L. Stevenson
also, Robinson Crusoe has pirates in it...
Can't forget The Count of Monte Cristo...
:: thinking ::
duh, Peter Pan :-p but the original story as written by Barry.. it's not a kid friendly tale actually, not young ones anyways, I mean
there's The Water Witch and The Sea Lion by James Fenimore Cooper... never got around to reading them because I didn't like the Last of the Mochicans by him...
Andre Norton did a pirate book called Scarface long long time ago... never read it either
Sir Walter Scott did The Pirate...
Voltaire wrote Candide, but that's an extreme classic... written in 1759 or something like that
most of those are old classics and written in various older styles.. might not be everyone cup of tea... anyways, you have made me use my brain, I must now go lay down :-p

Just be careful of which version of Peter Pan you pick up. You want the one of Peter Pan, not Pan's Peter.
*Shakes fist*
I'm not sure how the book was, but the movie the Last of the Mohicians was awesome.

the story is awesome plot wise but I just didn't care for Fenimore's way of writing
