Online, there are several star wars based roleplay forums: Galactic Domination, The Gungan Council, and of course TRF.

For the past 2 days I have been on almost every major search engine on the web search trying to find a WWII based forum, and I did find one, a tiny little place that is a subsection of a WWII discussion site (and it's not even ready to go yet, they're still working on it). That's it.

I know many TRF members are interested in the subject and would probably take part in a site like TRF but of course WWII based.

What I am asking, is are there any TRF members who would be intrested in starting such a site with me (the idea has been going through my head for a littlewhile, and I was checking to see if there were any sites already up so I wouldn't have to make one)

Of couse, I doubt my search was complete, and if any members know the location of such site I would appriciate if you posted the URL here or PMed it to me.

Thank you, and don't give me that crap about being a noob, because A. I am and I accept that, and B. It is a good idea that I would like to follow through on and many people would enjoy like TRF.

What I mean to do is based on TRF to a degree.

The world war II countries (major countries, anyway) will each be a seperate faction. All world war alliances will be abolished, so your free to make new ones. It will also be character oriented.

It will have a similar R&D system, each R&D being approved by a panel that decides whether the proposed item is beyond the times technology. Actually weapons from the period will be available for use once (on the seperate established timeline) that their time of deployment has been reached.

There will be tanks, planes, battleships, and infantry. You may use the actuall ones used in the war or design your own.

Rules? Haven't really put much thought into them yet. I imagine like much of the site it will be similar to TRF's (which will make transition easier for anyone who wants to RP over there as well)

That help. IF not, be more specific, please.

fuck that duck
search for risk rpgs or something... seems kind of silly to call it a ww2 rpg if you're not going to follow history in it?

Oh, I'd also like to have a system that divides the planet into areas, each with different resources. So if you don't control some area you lose part of your resources like iron or oil or someting. IF that could be implemented sucessfully then it would be interesting.

Do'nt like the R&D thing? I also thought it would be weird, but I figured a war on there would last much longer than the real thing, so I figured it might be nessesary. But don't like it? nothings concrete yet, so if you have any ideas feel free to say them.

That is true, about the alliances, but they change. If germany conquored russia, they would have certintly attacked Japan. Some flexebility must be in place. Perhaps when everything starts they will be set up axis-alliance like the real thing.

And demo, if you look for risk rpg's it'll just bring up 20 pages of website games. I've spent 2 days looking for a wwII rpg site, and I am 99 percent sure that this would be the first one.

Back with a Vengeance
Prepare for a massive undertaking of which will be...massive.

Seriously, set your brain for overload.

Ok, I can help you with the currently avilable techs, the deployable techs, whether or not certain R&Ds will be ascertainable, I can provide for you an R&D program that let's you create your own ships, I can provide for you a couple of websites that are immensley helpful, I can tell you all you need to know about the world's resources for such a scenario and how it would help you, I can help you devise a rules system, and much much more.

For now, let's get started by going here:

The Slothful Padawan
Hey Kach, have you ever thought of just looking up some tabletop Wargamers? I know that Kraken would love a (accurate) chance to spread his wings as commander of WWII ships and I'm sure that if our beloved Telan was still around he would be in heaven.

But I don't think at TRF you'd get the amount of players necessary to give a WWII game justice. (IE All the major player states filled) I've played a couple of WWII based games before. Heck, I even lead Belgians to victory once. BELGIANS!

Oh, and I will in no way possibly be able to give the same level of detail as Kraker. Why? Because that would cause what limited brain power I have to turn in a nice moist goo.

Mhmmm. Moist goo....
