"And what exactly is wrong with the name Thumper?"

I honestly don't know what to say at the moment. I'm a London ex-pat. Grew up there. I think I may be in shock. What the fuck?

Mein Gott!

Britian is under attack and I think it is high time the forces of England showed them the Lion still has teeth. God Save the Queen and Rule Britannia. My heart goes out to all the wounded and fallen of Britain.

Well, Tony Blair's speech was short n sweet. A bit bumbling, but he got the general message accross. I don't envy that man right now.

There's unconfirmed reports on the news that Al Quaeda are claiming responsibility.

Some guy who was interviewed said it could've been 'cause of the Olympics. That's bullshit.

Telan, don't be too hasty.

More importantly though, how're you guys in England holding up? Everybody ok?

Where did I go right?
Things are pretty werd here at the moment.

I dunno about the rest of England but here everybody is inside their houses. No ones been up my street for hours. My brother lukas's school was all sent home aswell. My mum's trying to contact our family that live in London but so far no luck.

I've never been much of a Blair supporter but the speech he just made with the G8 leaders has boosted my support for him greatly. You can see this is truly affecting him in the way he made his speech and for that I am proud for now to call him our Prim Minister despite any feelings I had for him in the past.

Blink If You Can Hear Me
The idea that now is the time to raise the foil and stand defiant is a stupid idea. As evidenced by the American response to 9/11, millitary action does not end terrorism and death, it has actually helped to polarize and galvanize otherwise unphased members of population to become sympathetic to the causes of those who purpotrate violent action. The possibility exists that this is either related to the G8 summit, the Olympics, Al Quaeda, or the IRA. Of course, it could be related to none of those, but those seem most likely. If it is indeed the AQ or the IRA, a prolonged millitary engagement with both has been witnessed in the past and has born heavy casualties on both sides and continued violence in seemingly endless wars. To charge into action without knowing who or why would be premature and catastrophic.

That said, to all TRFer's in London (Seth at the least), I hope you're safe and just know that we're thinking about you.

Wow... I wake up this morning, turn on the news and hear "terrorists have struck London." Not having expected that, I was shocked. I've never been to England, but my dad goes over there a lot. Fortunately he wasn't there now. All I can do is say I'm praying especially for all of you people from London and also for all of England.

I'm still alive and kicking.

Been in the news office the whole time up until now, happened at about 9:00 am , Peak rush hour.

4 Confirmed explosions, and rumours of more.

One hospital has had at least 183 (Royal London) walk in and about 133 of those walked out, most are walking wounded so to speak.

That is just one hospital however so, we'll see, suffice to say my plans for going into town today just got scrapped.

The whole Tube network, and central road system has been shutdown, so travelling into London is big no.

One bomb went off on a bus, and that is pretty gruesome I can tell you, suspicion is it may have been suicide bomber, but I guess lots of speculation going on now.

From what I can tell there may have been 8 bombs, police have done at least one controlled explosion but they haven't said much about it.

Suffice to say , what I am seeing today is heartbreaking and deeply angering, just 24 hours ago Trafalgar Square (and many other parts of London) were packed full of celebrations after we learned of our successful bid to stage the 2012 Olympic games.

The injuries people have suffered have been horrific, this truly has been an appalling attack.

Thanks for the support all, its appreciated.

I cannot put into words just how angry I am feeling right now, I condemn anyone who supports this senseless brutality.

To all in England, you have our sympathies. Seth & Steda, hope your families are safe.

To our members: If, in your surfing, you find an official link for aid to be sent to our good friends overseas, I'd appreciate a link or reference posted here. I am not sure if there is anything up as yet but I imagine there will be very soon.
