Radiohead
I started with OK Computer, which at first I disliked quite a bit; I considered it a lost purchase. But, I gave it a fair shake, and after a few days of listening it started to grow on me. I bought Amnesiac next, and at first disliked it. It didn't seem to have any real 'songs', like OK Computer did. Then, while listing to it for the third time in a row, it clicked. The entire album, when taken as a whole, seems to be the chronicle of a man going through the ending/aftermath of a bad breakup. After I realized this, I enjoyed the album a lot more. It grew on me a bit, too. So, I've now become a bit of a Radiohead fan. I just ordered Hail to the Thief and Kid A.

Coldplay
Parachutes had two, maybe three songs on it that I enjoyed. I gave it a fair chance, but it didn't grow on me like OK Computer did. A Rush of Blood to the Head, however, has grown on me. It's a far more listenable album than Parachutes, IMO.

Matthew Good
I bought Beautiful Midnight, listened several times, listened some more, and ... well ... shelved it. The musical style is ok, but the lyrics are too ... I dunno. Too hopeless? Pessimistic? Something. It didn't click with me. After poking around with a few songs from his other albums, I don't think any of his other work will either.

Can't wait for the new albums to arrive though. I'm a bit pumped about the Hawk Nelson CD I ordered too. I don't usually like punk, but Hawk Nelson has a sound I kinda like.

Agreed. Hearing it live is even better.

Kas, maybe you heard, maybe you haven't, but I am a huge fan of Interpol, so I would recommend their first LP "Turn on the Bright Lights" or their latest "Antics."

To add, they just played here a week ago and I was there front and center.

I have their "Antics" album. It's like someone reanimated Ian Curtis' (of Joy Division) corpse and made him record the same song 10 times. Not that it's a bad album, by any means, but you definitely have to take it in small doses.

They are different from Joy Division in that they aren't as creative, from what I've heard. Like I say, the album is good, but it's all a much of a muchness. Their past stuff might be better, but it doesn't have the depth or (feel of) genuine emotion that Joy Division had.
