I though I'd make an OOC thread for this, since it looks like we may need staff intervention.

------------------------------------------------------------OOC: In the Abregado-rae takeover, under captured(the ooc part), you never mentioned capturing any GC computers, so naturally you don't know where Haven is. All your captured as a Planetary Shield Generator Mark II and Joren Arden.

No you didn't, you just said you captured information.

Plus, why would we keep the co-ordinates to our hidden planets on a ground based computer. Those would only be in shipyards and ships. So.....Haven is still hidden until you actually get a decent reason.

Strange how you are allowed to make miraculous leaps of logic, while we are required to detail the movement of every muscle and capilary of every soldier in every army on every world in the Empire.

No, it can be found, I'm just waiting for Drayson to get a realistic good reason. If he captured a ship, and RPed out getting the co-ordinates from the navigational computer, then he could attack Haven. Until that point...

So then technically could the GC figure out the coordinates to Bastion after taking over Bespin and Taloraan?

Though to TNO's credit, where is the line drawn? It's very easy for you to just deny that that ship knew where Haven was.

There really needs to be a point when someone can just go "Okay, this was found", because the group that loses said information is going to not like it, it's going to suck, and there's going to be losses.

That's how war works.

Though I agree that this was kind of a chincey way to go about it, wouldn't that make it just as easy for Bastion to be found?

And how would one finally "find" these coordinates if the GC keeps denying them?

I would think the best thing to do is would be to set in stone who has said information, inform members of the staff who has it, and then the staff will know when it's taken should something like this arise.

What an incredible leap of logic!

No.

The difference between Bespin/Taloraan is that Abregado-rae fell to the Empire with no damage to its central information system, and several thousand enemy were captured.

All forms of technology on Bespin and Taloraan were completely obliterated.

The difference there is staggering.


I also have a theory on hidden planets, which I shall dispense now.

"Invented" hidden planets (i.e. Haven) are not as difficult to locate as canon hidden planets (i.e. Bastion). Why? Because Bastion is hidden, always has been. It's from a canon source, and as such deserves the protection granted of a canon world and its hidden status (imo).

Haven (the one we're dealing with) was created by the New Rebellion as a base, and has no canon backing for its hidden status. Essentially, I'm saying that groups can call their planet "hidden" if they like, but it's easier to find than a planet that's established as hidden in canon.


Jan, face it. Your arguments are flawed and, frankly, wrong. We captured Abregado-rae will all of its computers and information systems intact. We captured three ships at Corellia, likewise intact. We captured thousands of enemy soldiers (of various positions) and interogated them.

And Jan, the reference I made to "one of our probes" is not something pulled out of my ass. Take a look through the Battlegrounds.

That theory itself is flawed because according to canon, the Republic and most of the galaxy knows exactly where Bastion is.

The Yuuzhan Vong knew, the Republic knew, Leia knew, Han knew, everyone knew.

So by your own theory, Bastion was once hidden, but is no longer.

It was stated that its location was put into Republic archives, canon itself completely and one hundred percet contradicts your theory.

Bastion is a codename for the Imperial capital. It does not neccessarily (and, at TRF, does not) reflect the location of the capital during the time of the NJO.

Not to mention that, on TRF's timeline, Bastion was never attacked by the Vong, and the other events you mentioned are shady, at best.

Leia Organa Solo went to Bastion at the beginning of NJO, before any of the real devastating attacks started taking place.

The other sources are just as canon.

I don't think it's fair to tell others you can find their systems easier because they "made them up", when they aren't allowed to find systems just as easily that are, by canon, already found.
