Perrin, you can't say that your not even completely disabled Sith Battlecruiser would fall into the path of the ion cannon, just when I fired it and that I wouldn't notice it. The problems are:

1:The Sith Battlecruiser wasn't even completely disabled at that point, so it woudln't be tumbling.
2:I Rped the ion cannon hitting the Assault Sphere twice in two posts, so it hiti it twice, not once, and one hitting the Sith Battlecruiser

About you destroying 90% of the mines.

1:That is way overestimating. I Rped the majority of the mines being in that area, so there are about 30 000 - 40 000 mines. You can't destroy 90% of 30 000 - 40 000 mines in one post using only 100 TIE Devils. Plus, your Devils would naturally get in the way of some of the shots, a nd would instantly be disabled, because they have the worse hulls ever.

About you not being in the path of the ion cannon in my next post.

1:Since Planetary Defenses are now networks, if the first ion cannon can't hit you, a different one could.

Jan... did you read the post?

From the new position of the Argoth, you're going to have to fire through your shipyard to hit the Carrier.

Other cannons, located (for example, on the North and South poles, assuming the current cannon is on the equator) are further away, and thus out of range.

Also, if you group 40 000 mines in one small(ish) area, then massfire from the Devils is going to take them out with relative ease. It's the same way those versions of pong where you have to destroy the bricks work; the more bricks (or mines) there are, the more likely you are to hit one with your ball (or laser).

Now picture that game with 100 balls.

Obviously, the Sith Battleship is not completely disabled. But if its engines are disabled, it can easily loose control. Add to that the kinetic energy of the ion blast hitting a relatively small ship, thus throwing it off course.

And perhaps you did RP the ion cannon hitting the Sphere twice; but the other side is still allowed to respond. In this case, the TNO response was to place a target between your cannon and the Attack Sphere.

And I'm sure Perrin will have something to say himself, too.

It is tumbeling, Perrin as a representative of TNO role-played it as tumbeling. Non-issue.

Not so, the following is from Chau's post.

The Sith Battleships were now moving to the fore, providing a three-dimensional spearhead formation that was aimed directly at the waterworld planet. The Carrier emptied its hangar bays and the TIE Devils formed up loosely, like the rest of the fleet.

You need to shoot through the Sith ships in order to attack the sphere, which is in the background.

This is from the Role-Play:

90% of the mines that would be within range of the fleet and yards (with the exception of any mines behind the shipyards between the planet).

Yes, it is a little bit of a large number, and should be edited down. However, the ION mines won't shoot at anything over 4 meters, so they won't be targeting the Devils.

Now, the ION cannons are a network, allowing 2 in position to fire at any time. It thus makes sense that they would be spread over the planet in fairly even intervals. The enemy fleet moved, placing your Mine field and shipyards between them and the planet, try drawing a line from any other position on the planet so it hits the enemy sphere (which is at the back of the three dimensional arrow-head) without blowing through your own stuff first.

I agree with msot of the sutff Kas, but since I used the 72 hour rule before he RPed the Sith Battlecruiser tumbling, so the thing is disabled. Plus, maybe my Ion cannon wasn't right at the equator, or his ships weren't right at the equator, so I could have fired under, or over his ships to hit the Assault Sphere.

I agreed that they wouldn't target the devils, but some of the shots would have hit the Devils, and would have instantly disabled them.

Yes, disabled and tumbling. Haven't you heard of inertia? It's space, Jan! The ship just doesn't stop.

I actually like that choice better.

However, this is why Chau said 3D spearhead formation. Brilliant man, that Chau Ming.

The TIE Devils are hitting them while they remain...inactive.

As for the 90% of the mines in the general area being disabled, you never said exactly how many mines I was dealing with. In fact, you never really give their positions in any exact sense whether they are all bunched up or spread out.

So, absent your information, I posted (same as you did with me).

However, I can lower the percentage.

Not so.

# Jumping to hyperspace from a scene of combat must be done over 2 posts, interspaced by the required 72 hours allotted for an enemy reply. This does not apply to jumping into combat, except in cases of groups sending reinforcements.

The Anthos fleet is not a reinforcement fleet, it is its own fleet.

In any case, my fleet has not even arrived at the scene of battle, it'll take another post to do that, so the point is moot.

The "thing" I was talking about was your Assault Sphere, not the Sithbattlecruiser. It's a mute point now though.

Fine, if I didn't disable his Assault Sphere, my two shots still hit two other Sith Battlecruisers.

Luckily the enemy had attacked right near the shipyards, where all the mines were placed.

The enemy could basicly only visually target the mines, since Defender Ion Mines are extremely difficult to find on sensors and pinpoint. Unfortunately with a big field of them in front of the fleet, it wouldn't be hard to find them.

As for the 90% of the mines in the general area being disabled, you never said exactly how many mines I was dealing with. In fact, you never really give their positions in any exact sense whether they are all bunched up or spread out.

Look at those three quotes. Yours directly contradicts mine. Mine was posted first, and in the RP. Therefore, your is ignored, and useless. Finally, obviously you can't destroy 90% all of the mines.

..A mine that detects a ship within its range will fire upon it once per round. Normally, it will ignore any object that is less than four meters in diameter.

Where the hell did you find that quote? Or did you jsut make it up as I suspect you did? Plus, that is normally, hwich would be when there are other ships around. With no other ships around, they woudl obviously mass fire at mass of 100 fighters in front of them. There is no reason why my mines wouldn't target your fighters.

Also, why are you RPing for Chau? When did he transfer command to you?
