Does jamming work here?

Is it just the first person to mention that they wanted to jam the enemy and then they're officially deaf? Or is there more to it?

In my current thread over Abregado-rae I did not consider them jammed until I was certain I had a superior force capable of scrambling such transmissions, and with such I still didn't believe that I could control anything but comms trying to leave the planet without actually destroying their comms stations.

Jamming is pretty final. I don't remember anyone ever trying to punch through enemy jamming, though if you're creative and realistic enough it could be done. I seem to recall it being done in the EU too.

Generally, and Imperator-class or equivalent is capable of shutting down communications in a star system.

So by TRF's rules...with the flick of a switch an entire system is completely blocked out from one another?

That's about it. No one has done anything different, nor has anyone attempted to break jamming (which by the way, would be hard)

The way I interpreted it in Star Wars was that one ship had to try to jam another ship's communications...but the whole thing seemed confusing and difficult.

Certainly the numerically advantaged Empire didn't jam the Rebel's comms at Endor, nor at Yavin IV so there has to be something more to it.

Who, exactly, was the Rebellion going to call on for help?

If you're speaking about ship to ship coms, that's different. Ship to ship (I'm making this up as I go) is a tighter beam transmission that is much harder to jam.

As I interpret it, there's a difference between jamming out-of-system communications and ship-to-ship communications, yeah.

Okay then, if one holds numerical superiority though, can they basically fight through the jam or force the jam back on the enemy?

No clue.

Alright I'll see about looking it up.
