Theren predates our bio forum I believe. I don't think Theren was a republic officer, I thought he was a reporter of some sort. It's been a while since I read those stories.

Not much point kicking up a fuss over it, unless Gash feels strongly about it which I doubt (I assume someone will give him a heads up at some point), we know the truth, that's all that matters.
