Ya, it was pretty good. I was kind of bored during the portions with Hiro. But it was a pretty good episode. I don't think enough happened. Like the brother/sister from Mexico, I would have liked to know what their powers were. But all in all it was a decent episode.
It seemed to be a significant detour from season 1, it kind of reminded me of the Star Wars/ESB philosophy which is, the first act introduces the characters and the 2nd act throws them into an impossible/dark/dire situation.
That being said, I'm eagerly awaiting the following episodes.
