The Rebel Faction

The VSD mark II Gold Dragon, along with the Interdictor Harpago hung in space in the Halowan system. The Interdictor had her gravity well generators to full power, and the Gold Dragon had launched one TIE fighter squadron to patrol and had the other TIE fighter squadron and the TIE bomber squadron on standby. A Gand, Commodore Siather Det’aan stood on the bridge of the Gold Dragon waiting patiently for the report that the target to be dragged out of hyperspace. A convoy of Tibanna gas on route to Bimmissari was reported to be traveling this direction. The crew worked diligently and anxiously waited the arrival of the convoy. It was painfully obvious that this crew had not seen a lot of combat recently but their training should in theory make up for their lack of experience.

“There are a number of ships coming out of hyperspace sir,” the young sensors officer reported.

Siather looked down at a nearby display and studied it for a second. There seemed to be around 3 bulk freighters and four cargo ferries.

“Bring us closer to them have the Harpago hang back approximately 2 km behind us, have TIE fighter squadron Beta launched and have TIE fighter squadron Alpha assume an aggressive stance at about 1.5 km in front of us. Have the other squadron assume a defensive screen 1 km in front of the Harpago and us. After the Fighters are launched, launch the Bombers and have them head for travel at around 1.25 km from us. Have the Alpha squadron break off at 4 km from the targets and engage in pairs if there are some fighters mixed in there, have them move in flights of 4 if there is few or no fighters and engage the freighters. The bombers should break into flights of 3 at 3.5 kilometers and engage the Freighters. Have our gunners open fire as soon as we are in weapons range.”

Siather watched as the ships got closer 2 cargo Freighters appeared to be owned by MCF along with 1 cargo ferry, the other 2 Cargo Freighters and 2 Cargo ferries seemed to belong to TCF. The first of the turbolaser fire started streaking out towards the convoy as the TIE fighter squadron Alpha started to break off formation and attack the freighters.

Siather looked out at the MCF, and TCF freighters and watched as Alpha squad were working on the MCF freighters bring their shields down slowly. He also noticed the bombers Iota squad were concentrating mostly on the TCF ships. All the freighters were being pummelled by the Turbolaser fire from the Gold Dragon.

"Have our turbolaser gunners concentrate on the TCF freighters while our Ion battery gunners commence firing on the MCF freighters. Have Alpha squad discontinue their assault on the MCF freighters as soon as the engines are powered down and have them commence and assault on the TCF freighters, I want there to be nothing left of the TCF freighters."

Siather studied the MCF ships for a second and then gave the order for a comm channel to be openned.

"To all MCF freighters this is Commodore Siather Det'aan of TRE, power down your engines, prepare to be boarded for inspection and I will have my gunners discontinue the assault. If you do not have your sheilds down within 1 minute of powering down your engines I'll have my gunner resume their attack until they are."

"Have all of our transports and our Assault Boats move forward and have them assume a defensive ring around the MCF freighters as soon as they have complied."

"Sir we have more ships exiting out of hyperspace configuration and IFF signal suggests they are of MCF design."

Siather listened to the message from the MCF fleet and had an officer set up a comm channel.

"MCF fleet, this is Commodore Siather Det'aan of the Gold Dragon. I am here on behalf of TRE with orders to board your freighters and conduct a search. If you would be so kind as to have them lower their sheilds and power down their engines we can get this done quickly."

Admiral Hinderson grinned as the bait was taken, and the trap was sprung. Joe had committed far too many forces to end one little border skirmish...that would cost him dearly. Directly in the jump route....the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Death's Hand<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> eixted its shield in the shadows Halowan's sun provided, displaying its whole 17 kilometer awe. Aboard the bridge, everyone was dead silent, as so the Chimerans could not detect their sound waves...now...it did not matter.

"Charge the super laser, charge weapons to maximum fire power! Bring the Star Destroyer around in the front!" Hinderson ordered...and the ship roared its mighty engines, catching itself up to the enemy Star Destroyers at once. On the way, the enemy cargo ships were destroyed by the mighty turbo lasers of the Eclipse...and the super laser was almost done. A mixture of ion and turbo laser cannons volleyed into the enemy Star Destroyer that was taking the lead, the TIE Defenders pulling back near the Victory Star Destroyer. Shields already began to deterierate on the enemy Imperial Mark II.

"Get ready..." Hinderson ordered.

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> 160 Missiles shot out from the Victory's. They were all aimed at the Victory mkII. These were not just normal missiles these were Fex-M34 missiles. Then the Victorys moved in on the Intredictor, firing their turbolasers at the Intredictor. It was hoplessy outmatched. The fighters were upon the enemy fighters not even giving them a chance to think of going after the Fex-M34 missiles. At the same time Imperial mkII was pounding The Victory. It's guns all concentrated on one spot. It opened up a hole and kept it open while the missiles which had all taregeted that one spot weregiving a free ride in.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->
