I asked this girl to prom, and after I asked she was all smiling and happy and stuff, and she said "[she'd] think about it."

Well, it's been a week, and now I just don't think she's interested. Whenever I glance at her in class, and find her looking, she looks away. And just tonight, which was a musical that she was in, I approached her and told her all that jazz about being great, and it seemed she was more preoccupied with other things.

I was in the exact same situation last year. I asked the girl, she stared into my eyes with a smile and said she'd get back to me. She never did, and ended up going out with another guy to the prom as "friends".

I would suggest getting another date inline in case it ends up similar to my own case.
